And of course, it would all be perfect. You know, because I have so much experience in business development and marketing and have unlimited time and resources, yada yada yada.
Yeah, I don't have any of that.
What I do have, though, is maybe more helpful and more important. I've got an extremely supportive and encouraging husband and family. I've got a great circle of people in my life that motivate and challenge me creatively, and I've got a little boy who is always asking for more cookies and who loves to pull out his apron and bake alongside me. Not a bad deal.
I want it all to be right and perfect and amazing from the start.
I recently called my brother-in-law, Mike Tucker, who I consider a very wise marketing/business man, and he shared with me this nugget his mother had once shared with him:
"Just do it dirty."
Its simple, I get it, and it was exactly...exactly....what I needed to hear.
Instead of trying so hard to make this transition perfect when that's not possible, I'm just going to do it dirty. As I present to you my updated cake shop, it might be messy, it will definitely be under construction, I'll probably make changes along the way, but you can be guaranteed that on the other side of what you see, I'm having more fun than I've ever had with my shop and I'm even more excited about getting to put some sweet delicious treats in you hands.
So join me. I'd love for you to be a part of this journey as I continue to grow my little cake shop into something a little newer and a little sweeter. I can't wait to see where it leads us.
