But its all related to the shop and I'm having plenty of fun and making progress and there are still a large number of things I'd like to complete.
One of those things is to photograph my cakes so that when someone looks at my menu, they have an idea of what they'll be getting. Not too unreasonable to ask, right?
To be honest, I don't think I'd ever given this much thought, probably because I see the insides of my cakes all the time and yeah, it just didn't occur to me. That is until one of my very kind customers suggested I do it.
So Leela, this one is for you.
But there is only one problem. I can't get myself to just cut into a customer's cakes, take pictures, replace the piece and then frost it over like nothing happened. There's just something that feels very wrong about that, like a groom seeing his bride before the wedding, or opening your Christmas gifts before they even get under the tree (definitely not guilty of that one "wink wink"). It feels like I'm robbing someone of an experience they'll only get once.
I know that's really dramatic when we're only talking about cake, but that's how it feels.
All of that to say, I need to make cakes to take pictures of for my website, which means something will need to happen to them when I'm done.
Lucky for you, I've decided not to just toss them like I did with all those terribly sad macarons. Instead, in the very near future, there will be a number of cakes from my menu available for half off. That's just $10! It won't all happen at once, but it will be happening very soon.
More details will be coming soon so keep your eyes peeled.
