Hi, my name is Holly and welcome to the Little Brown Box Bake Shop.
I am a wife and stay at home mama and baking is my thing. I started baking with my grandma when I was young and it's been one of my hobbies ever since.
In 2011, with the help and support of my husband, and my sister and brother-in-law, and as the result of a big fund raiser to get myself to Switzerland for the summer, I started Layers Cake Shop. Before that summer, I had been baking cakes for my two nieces each year for their birthdays. When it came time to raise money for my trip to Switzerland, I decided to try selling cakes to friends, co-workers, and neighbors. To my surprise, I received more orders than I had imagined and before I knew it, the trip was paid for. After I returned home from my summer away, the cake orders continued to come in. And that was how it all began.
When I decided to try something new this year for Valentine's day, something in me began to stir. Instead of offering a special cake, I thought I'd try iced sugar cookies. I had so much fun and got such a great response I realized that if I was to continue with cakes and cookies, than having a "cake shop" didn't accurately represent my business.
After a few months of brainstorming and planning and getting things in order, I was very excited to finally introduce the Little Brown Box Bake Shop.
I love that I have this opportunity to share my passion for baking with others through sweet treats and I hope I'll have the opportunity to get to share some of them with you.
